Craig Konyk

Craig Konyk founded KONYK, a creative architectural design studio, in 1989. KONYK seeks innovative approaches to architecture at multiple scales. Craig is the newly appointed Assistant Professor of Architecture in the School of Public Architecture in the Michael Graves College at Kean University in Union NJ. He was formerly Adjunct Assistant Professor of Architecture in the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP) at Columbia University and in the Graduate School of Architecture at Pratt Institute. Craig is a frequent lecturer and critic at other architecture schools and associations. Craig Konyk has been named an Emerging Voice by the Architectural League of New York and was a finalist for the Rome Prize in Urban Design by the American Academy in Rome. He has served on the Boards of Artists Space, the Architectural League of New York and The Architect’s Newspaper. KONYK has recently designed the Exhibition “Rise and Fall of Apartheid; Photography and the Bureaucracy of Everyday Life.” curated by Okwui Enwezer, which originated at the ICP in New York, in September of 2012, travelled to the Haus der Kunst in Munich and ended its venues at the Museum Africa in Johannesburg South Africa in February of 2014.
